On 2 March 2023 HE Isabel Domingos the Ambassador of the Republic of Sao Tome and Principe paid a courtesy call to HE Oliver Wonekha the Ambassador of the Republic of Uganda.

The two Ambassadors reviewed the very warm relations between Uganda and Sao Tome and Principe and pledged to work together to further strengthen these relations. They also discussed abundant opportunities in China that the two countries can benefit from.

On 1st March 2023, H.E Oliver Wonekha met the Ambassador of the Republic of the Sudan, H.E Amb Omer Mohamed Ahmed Siddig who paid a courtesy call to  her at the Embassy of the Republic of Uganda in Beijing. Their Excellencies discussed a while range of issues of bilateral interest between the two countries and the opportunities that China offers for their benefit.

H.E Oliver Wonekha, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Ugandan to the People’s Republic of China joined other Ambassadors to a field trip to Xinjiang Region organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China as an initiative to further promote China-Africa cooperation, to learn through a field trip, of the economic and social development of Xinjiang Urgur Autonomous Region, to promote the communication and cooperation between Xinjiang and Africa. 

A delegation from the Embassy visited Anhui province for a two day working visit and held a meeting with the Deputy Director General of Foreign Affiars office of Anhui Province, and representatives from the departments of Agriculture and commerce. 

Issues of Mutual interest were discussed with the bid to strengthen relations in the areas of Trade, Tourism, education and investment between Uganda and Anhui province.

The team also carried out Winall International seed co in Anhui Province.

On 14th Feb 2023, Li Yongsen, the Deputy Director-General of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee, with a team of three officials paid a courtesy call to Uganda’s Ambassador to the Peoples Republic of China (PRC) H.E Hon Oliver Wonekha. The two discussed deepening their socio-economic cooperation, for a shared prosperity, mutual benefit, and inclusiveness in order to uplift the lives of their people. 

I held a meeting with Mr. Han Chi, Deputy General Manager of China Electronics Technology Group Corporation (CETC) International Co. Ltd. A company dealing in the field of electronic information technology and defense electronics industry and is interested in investing in Uganda. We agreed to work together to further strengthen the already bilateral relationship between the two countries.

Uganda’s Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China and DPRK, on Friday 13th January 2023 was hosted by Hainan TV to a Culture and Tourism Promotion Program “connections” which took place at Hainan TV.

“CONNECTIONS " is a high-end cultural interview program hosted by Ms. Mei Qing with cultural experts. It involved talking to Ambassador Oliver Wonekha, to introduce Uganda's regional landscape, cultural traditions, and food characteristics to Chinese audiences. 

The Embassy of the Republic of Uganda in Beijing, China, on Thursday, 8th December 2022, participated in “Love Knows no borders”, an International Charity Sale convened by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China and widely attended by Diplomatic missions and international organisations in China.

Attention has been drawn to the Embassy of the Republic of Uganda in Beijing regarding social media posts (WeChat messages) by some Ugandan Nationals in China urging Ugandans who need passport renewals to contact them.
