ENHANCING AGRICULTURAL COOPERATION: STRENGTHENING PARTNERSHIPS BETWEEN UGANDA AND CHINA

On 10 April, a technical term from the Ministry of Agriculture Animal Industry and Fisheries led by Hon Rose Kagenyi paid a courtesy call to the Uganda Embassy in Beijing. The team is in China under the Sout-South Cooperation Phase 3, which is designed to enhance cooperation between Uganda and China in the field of agriculture.  This collaboration demonstrates a commitment to mutual learning and sharing of agricultural best practices between the two countries.

On 18th Oct 2023, the delegation headed by the Executive Director of the Petroleum Authority of Uganda (PAU) Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC) Ministry of Finance Planning and Economic Development (MFPED) and CNOOC(U) paid a courtesy call to the Ambassador of the Republic of Uganda to China. The delegation briefed the Ambassador about Uganda's oil sector. The Ambassador welcomed the delegation to the Embassy and briefed them about the work that the Embassy did and the continued interest of Chinese companies in investing in Uganda.

On the 12th Sept 2023, H.E Amb Oliver Wonekha received Mr Yan and Mr Lee from the China International Import Expo (CIIE) Bureau under the Ministry of Commerce and the organizers of the 6th CIIE that is scheduled in Shanghai from 5th -10th November 2023.

H.E. the Ambassador appreciated the invitation for Uganda to participate in this year's CIIE  to showcase its products and preparations are underway in Uganda to ensure that Uganda fully participates in the event.
