On 10th May 2023, Ambassador Oliver Wonekha hosted Hon Jeje Odongo at the Embassy who is on a working visit in Beijing.

On the sidelines of the 3rd China- Africa Economic and Trade Expo, a delegation from Uganda embarked on an extraordinary journey of exchanges as they visited the Hecun African Cultural Park in Kaifu District, Changsha City on July 2.

On July 9, 2023, Mr. Luo Zhaohui, Director General of the China International Development Cooperation Agency, met with Hon Jeje Abubaker Odongo, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uganda and Ugandan Ambassador to China H.E Oliver Woneka, and Regional Director Bai Bin, who attended the first high-level meeting of the Global Shared Development Action Forum in China. 

H.E Oliver Wonekha joined other diplomats and the CPC Provincial high-level administration in Huawu Village, Guizhou province at a tree planting session during the celebration of World Environmental Day. 

H.E., later on, participated in a dialogue to discuss ways of creating awareness of ecological conservation and development. She shared Uganda's experience on environmental conservation and protection as emphasized by H.E President Rtd Gen Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

The Directorate of Immigration and Citizenship Control (DCIC) has today May 22nd 2023 opened an E-passport enrollment center at the Embassy of Uganda in Beijing. This center will enroll Ugandans living and working in China and the accredited countries of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Kingdom of Cambodia, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and Lao People's Democratic Republic.

H.E. Oliver Wonekha, The Ambassador of Uganda to the People’s Republic of China, this morning at the Chancery, met Mr Li Dongwei of China-Africa Development Fund. Their candid discussion centered on the role of China-Africa Development Fund in Promoting Chinese investments into Africa

H.E. The Ambassador today met Mr William Zhao of Total Energies, China, at the Embassy. The two had fruitful discussions about investment in the Uganda’s Oil Sector.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs together with the Uganda Embassy in Beijing- China coordinated and participated in the China (Changsha) -Uganda Investment Economic and Trade Promotion Event that was held today 25th April 2023 at the Serena Kampala Hotel. 

H.E. Oliver Wonekha, Ambassador of the Republic of Uganda to the People’s Republic of China today the 24th April 2023 presented her credentials to H.E Xi Jinping, the President of the People’s Republic of China. The ceremony took place at the Great Hall of China.

On April 17, 2023, H.E Oliver Wonekha, Uganda's Ambassador to China visited Jinda Coffee and Beverage Center in Guangdong Province and participated in the roasting, cupping, and tasting sessions of Uganda coffee. Coffee exports to China are expected to increase in 2023 with more collaboration between Ugandan and Chinese companies. 

In her remarks, H.E Oliver Wonekha informed that she would work together with Jinda Coffee to take advantage of the Chinese market.
