Uganda, under the dynamic leadership of His Excellency Oliver Wonekha, the Ambassador of Uganda to China, participated enthusiastically in the recently concluded China Africa Economic and Trade Expo held in Changsha, Hunan Province in China.

The Expo, which took place from 29^th June to 2^nd July 2023 witnessed Uganda's vibrant delegation presenting the country's economic potential and investment opportunities to a diverse audience of international attendees. The event provided a platform for fostering closer economic ties and cooperation between China and African nations. Representatives from both the government that is Hon, Mwebesa Francis and Hon Frank Tumwebaze and Private Sector Foundation attend the Expo.

During the Expo, Ugandan businesses and entrepreneurs showcased their products such as coffee, shea butter, sesame, horns and artifacts among others and services, highlighting the nation's rich natural resources and investment-friendly policies. The delegation focused on key sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing, tourism, and infrastructure development, demonstrating Uganda's commitment to sustainable growth and development.

His Excellency Oliver Wonekha emphasized the significance of Uganda's participation in the Expo, stating, "This Expo marks a crucial milestone in strengthening the bilateral relations between China and Uganda. We are grateful for the opportunities provided by the Belt and Road initiative, which has paved the way for increased trade, investments, and cultural exchanges."

The Expo allowed Uganda to interact with prominent Chinese enterprises, fostering potential partnerships and joint ventures. Both nations explored avenues for mutual prosperity and deepened cooperation, promoting economic growth and job creation in Uganda.

Moreover, the Expo witnessed engaging discussions and seminars, where Uganda showcased its cultural diversity, fostering understanding and friendship between the people of China and Uganda.
