On 25th September 2023 H.E Ambassador Oliver Wonekha was officially received by the Deputy Secretary of the CPC and Mayor of Dongying City Chen Bichang for the 2023 China (Dongying) Energy Industry International Cooperation Forum in Shandong Province that is scheduled from 25th to 27th September 2023.

In his welcoming remarks the Mayor gave a brief background of Dongying city. He also said  that he looks forward towards future engagements in areas of mutual interest and cooperation with Uganda and Africa for mutual benefit of the people.He further highlighted the other areas of socio-economic cooperation Dongying city provides.

In her  remarks Ambassador Oliver said that on behalf of the invited guests she was grateful for the good reception and looks forward to the forum.support the Chinese government has extended towards developing the oil sector in Uganda (the oil fields and the East African Crude Pipeline)                                   
Other countries represented at the Forum include;Angola,Gabon,German,Iraq,South Africa and Russia.
