Uganda Showcases Specialty Coffee & Handicrafts at Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) Expo 2026 in Linyi
LINYI, China – April 20, 2026 – The Republic of Uganda, represented by a delegation led by Ambassador Muheesi, accompanied by Ms. Bernadette M Ssempa – Counsellor from the Uganda Embassy in Beijing, made a notable participation at the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) Expo, using the platform to promote Uganda's premium products, including high-quality coffee and beautifully crafted handmade goods.
The Ugandan exhibition booth quickly became a highlight of the event, drawing visitors with the rich aroma of freshly brewed Ugandan coffee and a vibrant display of handcrafts reflecting the "Beauty of Uganda." The delegation engaged with international buyers and customs officials, underscoring Uganda's readiness to expand trade ties along side the RCEP framework.
Ambassador Muheesi emphasized that Uganda offers unique, organic, and sustainably sourced coffee and other agricultural products that align with growing global demand for authentic and ethically traded goods.
The expo also featured the Launch Ceremony of the RCEP Promotion Month by Customs Authorities Along the Yellow River and the 2026 "Overseas Chinese Assisting Thousands of Enterprises and Products to Go Global" Matchmaking Meeting, which were officially opened by Mr. Wen Nuan, Vice Governor of Shandong Province.
Uganda's participation highlights Africa's growing role in regional economic cooperation and the potential for direct trade between African producers and Asian markets.
