UGANDA PARTICIPATES IN 7TH CHINA LIAONING INTERNATIONAL FAIR FOR INVESTMENT AND TRADE

The Embassy of the Republic of Uganda in Beijing is participating in the 7th China Liaoning International Fair for Investment and Trade (CLIFT 2026), taking place from 22–25 September 2026 in Shenyang, Liaoning Province, China.

Uganda’s participation is aimed at promoting the country as a strategic destination for investment and trade, expanding market opportunities for Ugandan products, and strengthening economic and commercial cooperation between Uganda and China, particularly with Liaoning Province.

As part of the programme, H.E. Ambassador Oliver Wonekha delivered remarks during a meeting with the leadership of the Liaoning Provincial Government. She highlighted the strong and longstanding bilateral relations between Uganda and China and underscored Uganda’s commitment to deepening cooperation with Liaoning Province.

The Ambassador also presented Uganda’s investment and trade potential, highlighting the country’s strategic location, abundant natural resources, growing industrial base and opportunities for mutually beneficial partnerships with Chinese enterprises.

Addressing participants at the Fair, Ambassador Wonekha invited Chinese businesses and investors to explore opportunities in Uganda across a range of priority sectors, including agro-processing, manufacturing, mining and mineral value addition, energy, infrastructure and industrial development.

Uganda’s delegation, comprising officials from the Uganda Free Zones Authority and representatives of the Ugandan private sector, is also undertaking targeted business engagements throughout the Fair. The delegation is meeting prospective investors, buyers and business partners while showcasing Ugandan products and promoting investment opportunities available in the country.

Uganda’s participation in CLIFT 2026 reflects the Embassy’s continued efforts to translate the strong political relations between Uganda and China into increased economic and commercial cooperation. The engagements are intended to facilitate investment partnerships, expand market access for Ugandan products and create opportunities for sustainable business collaboration between Ugandan and Chinese enterprises.

The Embassy will continue to work with relevant Ugandan institutions, the private sector and Chinese partners to advance investment and trade opportunities and strengthen Uganda–China economic relations
