On August 5th 2024, Ms. Cao Saixian, the Director-General of Shenzhen Foreign Affairs Office met with H.E. Oliver Wonekha, Ambassador of the Republic of Uganda to the People's Republic of China.

Director-General Cao Saixian welcomed Amb. Wonekha to Shenzhen, and introduced the city as an open, inclusive, young, green and people-centered economic center city, hoping to further cooperation with Uganda in trade and investment, ICT and talent cultivation, and to facilitate more exchanges in the business sector.

Amb. Wonekha made an active response to Director General Cao's proposals. She said that outstanding Shenzhen companies like Huawei have already established a local presence, hoping to have more Shenzhen companies invest in Uganda.

Uganda's Ambassador to China expressed interest in deepening practical cooperation with Shenzhen under the framework of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), as well as the Belt and Road Initiative, to benefit the peoples of the two nations.
